ART:
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a unique approach to psychotherapy. ART is fantastic because the ART Therapist guides the client to replace the negative images in the mind that cause the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress with positive images of the client’s choosing. This is done quickly, most often within one session! The triggers will be gone once positive ones have replaced the negative images.
Critical features of Accelerated Resolution Therapy include Rapid Resolution: ART is designed to achieve faster results than traditional therapy. The goal is to resolve distressing memories and emotions relatively quickly. Eye Movements: Similar to EMDR, ART involves rapid eye movements. Clients are guided to move their eyes in specific patterns while recalling distressing memories. This process is believed to facilitate the reprocessing of traumatic experiences. Imagery and Visualization: ART incorporates guided imagery and visualization techniques to help individuals confront and process difficult emotions and memories. Mindfulness: Clients are encouraged to stay present and focused on their thoughts and feelings during therapy. Mindfulness techniques are integrated to enhance the overall therapeutic process. Flexibility: ART can be adapted to suit the needs of individual clients. It is considered a flexible and dynamic approach that can be applied to various types of trauma. Positive Reinforcement: The therapy emphasizes positive imagery and the transformation of negative emotions into more positive and adaptive responses
